NC100BW to launch a major advocacy component of its Economic Empowerment Agenda

(New York, NY –APRIL 26) The National Coalition of 100 Black Women (NCBW) has announced its launch of NCBW Cares, an economic empowerment project to be implemented by NCBW chapters in Atlanta, Baltimore, Los Angeles, Long Island (New York), Tampa, and San Francisco.

It was customized in order to meet the Responsive Web Design requirements.

NCBW Cares promotes this idea by allowing women to tell their stories—personal stories about the direct and collateral impact that the recession has had on them, their families and their communities. Through this national program, we hope to strengthen the resilience of and inform Black women.”

The participants will receive critical information on the prevention of foreclosures, on employment and on job training. In addition, participants will receive materials containing information that will enable older women to gain knowledge of the 2012 legislative agenda for social security and Medicare reforms. An organization of progressive women of African descent, NCBW advocates on behalf of women of color through strategic alliances that promote its national agenda on leadership development and gender equity in the areas of health, education and economic empowerment.
